As they explore the world of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players will encounter summoned characters Waddle Dees. These creatures, which have appeared in many previous Kirby games, seemingly serve as damsels in distress as they have all been captured and must be rescued before they can return to their homes Waddle Dee Town.
Each stage has a set number of Waddle Dees that can be saved, so make sure to scan each area thoroughly as you progress through the main story. In particular, players should be careful to interact with all objects as they can unlock hidden side missions with hidden Waddle Dees.

What purpose do Waddle Dees serve?
Players will be pleased to learn that rescuing Waddle Dees is very useful, besides being a nice touch. Once rescued, these creatures return to Waddle Dee Town where they can be used to repair damaged buildings. This will unlock various shops, activities, and even Kirby’s house where players can rest to regain HP. Aside from their utility, unlocking these buildings also makes the hub area of Waddle Dee Town feel a lot livelier.
