MLB: The Show 22 brings back the Road-to-the-Show mode, where you control your player’s rise to the big leagues. When you first start Road to the Show, you’ll be placed on a Double-A-Team to hone your skills.

In order to be called up to Road to the Show, your player rating must be higher than the player on the team in your position. If you are on a Double-A team and the player in your position on the Triple-A team has a rating of 70, you will be called up shortly after passing that rating.

You can be called up to the major leagues, but it will take some effort to raise your standings that high. To improve your overall rating quickly, play on lower difficulty levels first and make sure you’re catching, hitting, or pitching effectively. Getting called up as a 2-way player or pitcher is much easier than as a position player.

You can review all player position ratings within your team organization by going to My Team in the Route to Show menu and then cycling to your position. Every player in the team organization can be seen on screen, including their overall performance and potential.

After the convocation, a performance-related convocation is possible. To avoid this, try to keep wins as a pitcher, keep fielding errors low, and don’t suffer long batting dips. Sometimes getting recalled isn’t the worst thing, as it gives you an opportunity to play against lesser competition to boost your ratings.
