How to get Mewtwo in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go features hundreds of Pokémon for players to catch and collect, although some are only obtainable in certain ways. Players can find them in the wild, hatch them in eggs, fight and capture them in raid battles, and encounter them in research quests. A fan-favorite Pokémon in the franchise is Mewtwo, a legendary Psychic-type Pokémon that first appeared in Generation 1.

Where to get Mewtwo in Pokemon Go?

When Mewtwo is available to catch, it is typically only featured in five-star raids. However, this is not currently the case as Mewtwo does not participate in any events currently taking place in the game.

Fight in a five star raid

When the Pokemon becomes available to catch again, it will likely return as five-star raids. Players should call on their friends for help as this Pokemon will not be easy to defeat without several other trainers. After battling Mewtwo in a Raid Battle, players have an opportunity to capture it with a limited number of Premier Balls.

Trade with a friend

Currently, the only way to get Mewtwo is to trade the Pokemon with a friend. Players must first add someone as a friend and be in close proximity to them. Remember that you must have enough Stardust before trading. This amount can be lowered if trainers have a high friendship level with each other, and lowered again if Mewtwo was previously obtained.

Is Mewtwo now available in Pokémon Go?

At the time of writing is Mewtwo Not available obtainable in Pokemon Go. Unless the players have a friend who is kind enough to trade the Pokemon with them. Otherwise, keep an eye out for new events that could herald Mewtwo’s return to the game.
