Fortnite is no stranger to adding new mechanics to the game with seasonal updates, and this time players can experience the unique hurdle technique. To clear a hurdle, players simply have to sprint onto obstacles. This will automatically start the hurdle mechanic allowing you to park over the object in front of you. This is a new movement technique that encourages players to be more aggressive in battles.

Previously, sprinting onto objects in front of your character would stop momentum. The hurdle mechanic now allows players to effectively shove enemies after firing a few bullets. Ideally, you want to shoot and weaken the opponent’s shield before rushing to eliminate. Make sure your guns are always reloaded before shoving an opponent. This new mechanic will also be a lifesaver in tricky situations, especially when your character is stuck on an obstacle.

In addition to the hurdle mechanic, players will also see a new perk-like system called Reality Augment. These give players certain random boosts that can be used tactically to stay one step ahead of opponents. All of these new elements will change the meta in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 and players will need to adapt quickly to be successful this season.
