How to remove backgrounds from your pictures on Android

Image editing software that can do tasks automatically is so advanced that it is truly amazing. A neat trick some apps and phones can do is remove backgrounds from pictures, giving you a clean new photo with just the subject. How to start removing background in pictures on Android.
In Android, Google Photos takes one of the top spots in both editing and usability. Since it’s a native app, it’s straightforward and requires little effort to turn your photos into something new and exciting.
On iOS, a new feature has appeared It allows you to remove your background from images with just a few taps, effectively saving you tedious minutes of manual editing in the blink of an eye. While this feature is undeniably neat, Google Photos on Android has no such feature. To separate the subject in a picture from the background, you need to look for third-party apps.
There are a few routes you can take, but the app we found works very well and takes a lot of the guesswork out of editing a photo. You can get away with a free subscription, although you may have to sign up for an account. Additionally, the background removal feature works wonders and takes seconds.
Remove the background of an image using PhotoRoom
PhotoRoom is available for free on the Google Play Store. In-app purchases are available, but not necessary for quick photo editing.
- Download photo room from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and complete the short tutorial.
- Note: You can skip most of it.
- in the Create tab, tap Start with photo.
- Choose your photo.
- Tip: Make sure the photo has a prominent subject that is easy to spot.
- Once you select a photo, the app works automatically. Make further adjustments or choose a background color and click Split button to save to gallery.

As mentioned, the full app requires a subscription, but if you’re ok with a little watermark, you can get away with the free version.
However, PhotoRoom is not without its drawbacks. Because the app processes each image automatically, you can’t choose a subject to capture. There is also no option to choose a specific theme to keep.

Each of the above apps does a good job of removing the background of images on Android devices, although it’s not the same as having a native app do it for you. Until Google Photos adds the background removal feature to Android, we’ll have to settle for third-party apps.
