How to upgrade vehicles with Chonkers in Fortnite Chapter 3 Part 1

To upgrade a vehicle using Chonkers (also known as Off-Road Tires vehicle mods), you must first find a set of them. Chonkers can be found at the gas station and at the Chonkers Highway. They are sometimes available as loot on the ground, but usually you’ll have to bang something up to make them drop. Tires can drop a Chonker pick, and vehicles often do. The gripper will look like a single tire, but it represents a full set.

A Chonkers vehicle mod will take up a place in your inventory and actually be used like a grenade. To upgrade a vehicle with Chonkers, simply select the Chonkers in your inventory, then toss it at a vehicle. The car will magically sprout a giant new set of off-road tires and a new raised axle. That car will now handle much better and drive off-road faster.

By the way, if you throw Chonkers and don’t hit a single vehicle, a pile of tires will appear wherever the “grenade” lands. If you do this by accident, then you can get Chonkers by interacting with piles of tires. There aren’t many cases where you could intentionally create a pile of tires, although in a difficult situation they can be used as emergency cover.
