How to use sliders in The Sims 4

The Sims 4 lets you customize almost every aspect of your Sims’ lives, from their careers to the distance between their eyes. Face and body sliders can be accessed when creating a new Sim or by using an official in-game cheat.

In Sim Edit mode, look out for the three cursors pictured above, which indicate which body parts you can change. click and drag vertically or horizontally to change the appearance of your Sim’s face and body.

Additionally, you can use an external body controller to edit how fit your Sim is or how much body fat they have. Play around with these features to create your perfect character. But remember Sliders cannot be used on babies, toddlers and children. So is the belly size slider not available for pregnant Sims.

How to force edit a sim

If you bring an already created Sim back to the Create a Sim page, you’ll notice that the face and body sliders are disabled. You have to use a cheat to activate them. To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Type CTRL + Shift + C to open the cheat console in game. Replace CTRL with CMD when playing on macOS.
  • Type test cheats true and press Enter.
  • Type cas.fulleditmode and press Enter.
  • Hold down the Shift key and click on the sim at the same time you want to edit.
  • Choose Change in CAS. This will open the Create a Sim page with all customization options enabled.

What can sliders change?

You can use sliders to edit your Sim’s face as follows. It’s highly recommended to check the print preview after making any changes to ensure you’re happy with your results:

  1. Forehead width (horizontal) and total face length (vertical)
  2. Brow arch (horizontal) and placement (vertical)
  3. Eye distance, eye size and position
  4. ear position
  5. jaw prominence
  6. Lip width and angle
  7. chin protruding

You can use sliders to edit your Sim’s face as follows. It’s highly recommended to check the front view after making any changes to ensure you’re happy with your results:

  1. forehead prominence
  2. face and jawline
  3. forehead prominence
  4. prominence of the eye socket
  5. Nose protrusion and shape (horizontal) and position (vertical)
  6. Mouth protrusion (horizontal) and position (vertical)
  7. Chin protrusion (horizontal) and height (vertical)
  8. neck curve

  1. shoulder width
  2. upper arm width
  3. forearm width
  4. Oblique width
  5. hip width
