Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway will make his NCAA tournament debut when the Tigers (October 21) meet Boise State (27-7) in an exciting 8 vs 9 match Thursday afternoon.

The game (1:45 p.m. ET) will be televised on TNT. But if you don’t have cable, here are a few different ways you can watch Boise State vs Memphis live online:

Preview Boise State vs Memphis

Former Memphis player, now head coach, Penny Hardaway successfully guided the 9th seed The Tigers to end an eight-year drought at the NCAA tournament. It’s the Tigers that have suffered three and four defeats in the regular season.

“Those games pop right in there and it’s just, ‘God, how far have we come,'” Hardaway said according to Jason Munz of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “We are a completely different team.”

The Tigers reached the American Athletics Conference Championship but lost 71-53 to No. 18 Houston on Sunday, March 13. Now, the Tigers only face an 8th-seeded team. Boise State in the NCAA tournament is ready to make a run. The Broncos earned the show’s highest-ever NCAA tournament seed and the show’s highest-ever top 25 ranking at 23rd in the polls.

BSU won the league championship and the regular season of the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos beat San Diego State 53-52 for the crown on March 12. A Broncos defensive backstop sealed the deal.

“This is going to be a team we’ll all remember for a long time and perhaps this community will remember,” Broncos head coach Leon Rice said on Idaho 6 News’ Steve Dent.

Head striker Abu Kigab hopes to create more memories for Broncos fans. He leads the Broncos in scoring with 14.7 points per game. Kigab also averages 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

“He’s the one who regulates the temperature when you walk into the room, he sets the temperature,” Rice told Dent. “It’s important to have such a guy.”

Marcus Shaver, the Broncos senior guard, scores 13.6 points per game, second on the team in scoring. Shaver also averaged 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest.

Senior guard Emmanuel Akot also averaged doubles with 10.7 points per game. Akot also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

For Memphis, the 6-foot-11-year-old Jalen Duren freshman center was a tough game for the teams. Duren averaged 12.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.3 assists per game. He injured his wrist in the semifinals of the tournament on March 12 but returned for the championship game on Sunday.

The NBA draft outlook could present some monster numbers. He scored 21 points and won 20 rebounds against UCF in the AAC tournament on March 12.

Tigers senior forward Deandre Williams commended Duren on the pitch with 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.8 assists per game. Young keeper Lester Quinones has been solid for the Tigers this season with 10.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
