Ian Wright makes blunt Liverpool claims after FA Cup win

Ian Wright has made it clear that Liverpool’s hopes of winning the quadruple this season are just a ‘pipe dream’. as he told Premier League Productions (04/16/22 at 17:25).

The Highbury legend added it will be the “last thing” on Liverpool’s mind after they reach the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side held a 3-0 advantage in the first half at a sold-out Wembley after a recent titanic Premier League battle with Pep Guardiola and his players, Liverpool’s end anyway.

The Premier League champions were torn to pieces, just for two second-half goals to make the game more respectable for the Blues and send a shockwave of nerves to those chanting ‘You’ll never walk alone’.

Nonetheless, this is what Wright had to say following Liverpool’s FA Cup win and talks of winning this season.

“The quad room is a pipe dream,” Wright said. “Until you get to the next phase where you may be able to knock off another trophy.

“That’s the last thing Liverpool will think about because it’s too much pressure. You need so many things to win the triple let alone the quadruple. I just think they will look to the next game. They’ll just walk away.

“We can talk about it but Liverpool are just going about their business. They are a great football team.”

There’s a reason no team in the history of English football has won all four trophies, because it’s almost impossible.

But maybe, just maybe, the treble could be made by this ruthless and prolific Liverpool side.

They already have the League Cup in their pockets and either Chelsea or Crystal Palace await them in the FA Cup final.

In the Premier League, Man City still lead, while in the Champions League the Reds would have to kick each other seriously to avoid beating Villarreal in the semi-finals.
