American Idol Season 10 winner and country music star Scotty McCreery embarks on his 2022 world tour with Brad Paisley.

Paisley announced his upcoming tour on March 29, 2022. The tour will begin May 27, 2022 and run throughout the summer, with the US leg concluding in September 2022.

He will tour Europe and Australia. Accordingly WNY papersthe international tour is the first time he has left the country since 2019. The international tour concludes in New Zealand on October 8, 2022.

The singer will have guests like Tracy Lawrence, Scotty McCreery, Morgan Evans, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack. McCreery will only be on the US portion of the tour.

McCreery says Paisley pulls pranks on tour

in a (n Interview with Taste of the CountryMcCreery said that Paisley often plays pranks on those he tours with.

“Anytime you’re out there with Brad, you have to keep your eyes peeled. He’s Mr. Prank himself,” McCreery told the outlet. However, he has no pranks planned before embarking on this tour. “I think we need to get out there and see what the touring atmosphere is like.”

He shared that he also hasn’t played any pranks during his recent C2C tour.

McCreery came close to being a country legend

McCreery released the song “Damn Strait,” which pays tribute to George Strait, a big name in country music. The song’s music video also documents Strait’s time as a young musician.

“George is George,” McCreery told Taste of Country afterwards Strait’s account tweeted the video off. “He doesn’t have to do anything, you know? He is the king. But man, he saw [the song] and texted us back separately, like, ‘Man I love it. Thanks for the tribute.’ And then he tweeted it. I loved it all.”

Strait and McCreery also share another story. McCreery’s last song on American Idol was Strait’s “Check Yes or No,” and it ended up earning him the show.

When asked if there was a potential future collaboration with “The King,” McCreery said he’d love to work with Strait.

“It would be great,” he told Taste of Country. “I don’t know how often he does things like that. But it would be cool. He would have to curse himself! But I think he could do it in a cool way.

McCreery didn’t appear on “American Idol” in Season 20, although the show has featured a few past winners and contestants, meaning it’s possible he’ll return to the show at some point.

During Hollywood Week, Lee DeWyze, Jordin Sparks, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhardt, Ruben Studdard and Chayce Beckham all returned to the show to mentor the contestants. It’s possible McCreery could return to the show later in the season to mentor the country music contestants in the same way Lauren Alaina did before her genre challenge.

Bebe Rexha and Jimmie Allen will also both appear as guest mentors on American Idol later in the season.

“American Idol” airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time on ABC.
