In a bizarre post, Trump urges American Jews to pull themselves together and appreciate what they have

Donald Trump lashed out at American Jews Sunday morning for “no longer recognizing” his administration’s work with Israel.
The ex-president claimed he was so popular there that he could become the country’s next prime minister.
It comes shortly after a famous ally of his, rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was removed from Instagram and Twitter over a series of anti-Semitic comments.
“No president has done more for Israel than I have. Surprisingly, however, our wonderful evangelicals appreciate this much more than people of the Jewish faith, especially those in the US,” Trump said on his Truth Social app.
“Those living in Israel, however, are a different story – Highest approval rating in the world, could easily be PM!”
He concluded: “US Jews need to pull themselves together and appreciate what they have in Israel – before it’s too late!”
Trump has made similar religiously divisive remarks, including in 2019 when he called American Jewish voters who supported the Democrats “disloyal.”

Donald Trump has previously been accused of spreading anti-Semitism, but his latest comments come amid increasing threats to vulnerable groups across the country
He also came under fire in December 2021 when he told Israel-based journalist Barak Ravid for his book it was “dangerous” that more American Jews on the left did not support Israel – again throwing in the “evangelical” comparison.
“It’s a very dangerous thing that’s happening,” Trump said, according to Ravid.
“There are people in this country who are Jews and no longer love Israel. I’m telling you, evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews do in this country.’
The comments drew backlash from civil rights groups like the Anti-Defamation League.
American Jews have historically been a pro-democracy voting bloc, a trend that hasn’t changed in the 2020 presidential campaign.
During his tenure in the White House, Trump had been a close ally of the then-conservative Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
His reversal of decades of US policy in the fragile region — including moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem — earned praise from conservative Jews at home and abroad.
And while it’s not so much a new sentiment, Trump’s tirade on Sunday morning comes amid a worrying rise in threats and attacks on vulnerable groups.
A new wave of anti-Semitism in America has put synagogues and other Jewish community centers across the country on high alert.
Rapper Ye tweeted last week that he would give “Death Cheat 3” to Jewish people, which led to his being removed from the site.
Some conservative pundits and members of the fringe right jumped to his defense, claiming he had been censored for exercising his free speech.
