Inflation spurt monetarism deserves a different look
Milton Friedman has a moment.
As is well known, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, who died in 2006, declared that inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. The rising money supply and inflation over the past year have led Mr. Friedman’s supporters to declare, “I told you so.”
