The newcomers to the San Francisco 49ers impressed audiences who attended the 2022 training camp. And that’s just the rookie class.

There’s a scene of Danny Gray’s vast defense burning deep torches especially during the Saturday 6th class session. Drake Jackson has “is receiving consistent pressure“During the exercises.

Who did the insider introduce?

The Athletic’s David Lombardi praised two members of the 49ers rookie class. But only one person had a unique description of a “truck” – calling him a “drop-off truck” from what he observed.

The truck is Tyrion Davis-Price’s latest $5.3 million backyard pick — best known as the 49ers’ second-day surprise pick for draft professionals but has early showing his physicality during his NFL career from Lombardi’s point of view.

“Looks like Ty Davis-Price would be a truck to take down,” Lombardi tweeted.

The insider further talks about how the “49ers don’t touch the ground in training camp,” meaning they focus more on performing “smack” tackles to emphasize technique.

“So I’m really looking forward to Friday’s pre-season opener,” Lombardi said. “That’s when we’ll learn a lot about running backwards.”

Who else was impressed with ‘TDP’

Lombardi is not the only nationally known insider who has liked what he has seen.

Sports Illustrated Senior NFL Correspondent Albert Breer mentioned Davis-Price in a Twitter thread he postedsays how “impressive he is in the cushions” and how his presence will likely return Deebo Samuel to his original role as the universal receiver.

Meanwhile, Niners Nation’s Kyle Posey on SB Nation is another who saw the potential of “TDP” – even blowing up a Pro Bowler in the 49ers defence.

“For the second day in a row, Ty Davis-Price has made a name for himself. TDP made with the second team, made a cut to get the field, and crossed George Odum safely,” Posey described.

After that trucking, Davis-Price was elevated to a new team on practice day: Team First.

“That was enough to impress the coaches and allow the Davis-Price rep to start. In the next series, TDP only ran with the first team,” Posey wrote. “He broke a tackle at the end of the field. This back-to-back rookie has accumulated good workouts from behind and is making a strong argument for off-season performance. “

Finally, the @49ers_edits account is starting to believe that the former LSU Tiger is making a case for becoming No. 2 back after last season’s lead driver Elijah Mitchell.

“RB rookie Ty Davis-Price looks like RB2 and has some rep with the first team. Elijah Mitchell is RB1 and TDP and Sermon will take the second role. TDP is showing strength, vision, blocking skills and impresses.” the account said.

Currently, the 49ers’ top three draft picks from this previous class are underway at camp – with the 49ers’ second pick showing off his strength and leadership at the SAP Performance Facility.

49ers Fill in the positions in the lineup

Also on Saturday, the 49ers announced that Willie Snead and attacker Jordan Mills had signed with the team.

Regarding the latter signing, the veteran offensive player Mills was one of three offensive linemen who tried out for SF on Thursday, Aug. 4. Mills, who has played for seven other NFL franchises, played for the New Orleans Saints last season. It was also Mills’ return home to the West Coast, as he competed as a team at UCLA.
