Inter and Mourinho join Leeds and Arsenal in race for £15m treble

Report of CalcioMercato Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan and Roma have joined the race for Nottingham Forest’s loan-loan star Djed Spence. It happened, after Leeds and Arsenal were contacted by the Middlesbrough man.

London-born defender Spence, 21, is impressing on loan at Forest – after deciding to move to City Ground from Middlesbrough on a season-long loan. He has played 19 times for Forest this season, losing just two games.

Sky Sports Requests that Leeds and Arsenal have questioned the signing of a versatile right-footed player who can play at right-back – or right-winger. The Express says that Middlesbrough will want a fee of £15m.

But the two Premier League giants are not alone in their pursuit. That’s according to Calcio Mercato, who thinks both Inter Milan and Mourinho’s Roma are keen to lure Spence to Italian football this month.

Leeds, Arsenal or Italy: Spence has an important decision to make

Under Mourinho’s supervision while at Middlesbrough, Spence shone for the Championship side against Tottenham while the Portuguese took charge, in the FA Cup replay.

So obviously, Mourinho knows about Spence. A move to Inter or Roma would be extremely attractive but he won’t start. He’s in Leeds or Roma too. But at Leeds he has the best chance to improve.

Arsenal have just signed Takehiro Tomiyasu – and don’t need too much of a right-back. Luke Ayling at Leeds, meanwhile, is now 30 and has entered the final 18 months of his contract. Spence could be his long-term replacement.
