Nikola Vlasic is ‘ready’ to leave Premier League side West Ham United to improve Croatia’s prospects ahead of the 2022 World Cup, says national team manager Zlatko Dalic index.

This time it should be different.

When Vlasic joined Everton in the summer of 2016, he was a little-known youngster who arrived at Goodison Park after a couple of promising seasons at Hajduk Split. However, when he signed for West Ham a few years later, expectations were different.

Vlasic may have struggled at Everton but upon his return to English soil he was an established Croatia international, winner of the Russian Premier League Player of the Year and a midfielder with a fantastic goalscoring record at CSKA Moscow.

But so far Vlasic hasn’t fared much better at West Ham than at Everton.

He has only started five league games and scored once. And according to Dalic, the 24-year-old could even leave the London stadium after just 12 months to boost his confidence ahead of Croatia’s trip to Qatar in November.

Is Nikola Vlasic leaving West Ham yet?

“He’s ready in case he needs to be loaned out by West Ham,” said Dalic, who led Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final in Moscow.

“It’s easy to play and come to the World Cup in the right shape.

“He came to the club that wanted him (West Ham), asked for him and paid for him. But Moye’s style of play doesn’t suit him.”

“He inspired me in training. He’s full of energy. He is aware of his situation. I spoke to him, he said he was ready to fight.”

Vlasic, who cost West Ham £26million in August, has already ruled out a CSKA Moscow return ahead of the summer transfer window.

And the hope will be that, like Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma, his second season in Bordeaux and Blue will be far better than his first.
