Iowa Sports Reporter Goes Viral After Live Coverage From Blizzard:

Mark Woodley, A KWWL Sports reporter, has now gone viral for his coverage of a recent winter snowstorm. Woodley was assigned to cover the storm, which hit early Thursday morning.

Woodley’s Viral Broadcast

The viral video of Woodley’s broadcast was put together by Woodley himself from various times he appeared on camera that morning.

The clip begins with Woodley explaining that he “usually” covers sports. But everything in the area was canceled because of the storm.

I usually do sports, uh, everything is canceled here for the next few days, so what better time to ask the athlete to come in about five hours earlier than they normally would wake up and face the wind and the snow and would go out in the cold and tell other people not to do that. I didn’t even notice until today that there is a 3:30 (show) in the morning as well.

Later in the show, he says he’s used to recording indoor shows, which usually last around thirty minutes. This one, he notes, is much longer. And takes place in freezing weather.

Tune in for the next few hours to watch me get more and more moody and moody.

Woodley then jokes about wishing he was stationed in a vehicle.

The thing is heated. The outdoor area is currently not heated.

A few hours later, Woodley hilariously adds that he can still feel his face — although he wishes he couldn’t.

Can I return to my regular job? I’m pretty sure Ryan you guys added an extra hour to this show because someone likes to torture me. Because compared to two and a half hours ago, it’s getting colder and colder.

Woodley viral video

Woodley’s viral tweet and video have now garnered over 4.5 million views and over 122,000 likes.

In a recent interview with TODAYWoodley said he couldn’t believe the clip had brought him viral internet fame.

Of all the things I thought I would be known for in my life, the quirky old weather reporter wasn’t on the list.
