All the Old Knives was released for Amazon’s streaming service on April 8, 2022.
The film follows Henry Pelham and Celia Harrison, former lovers who met as CIA agents.
It begins at a dinner in 2020, where the two characters reunite after some time as they reminisce about a dramatic day in their careers in 2011.
The story is told in a non-linear structure that alternates between flashbacks and the present.
While deeply in love, the characters betray one another, with the plot taking an epic turn.

No, All the Old Knives is not based on a true story and is in fact fiction.
However, it is based on a novel of the same name written by Olen Steinhauerthe person behind the script too.
The book was published in 2015 and the storylines are very similar, except for the dates of certain events.
Film rights were acquired in May 2017 after the release received positive reviews and filmed in the second half of 2020.
Michelle Williams was originally on board to play the role of Celia Harrison opposite Chris Pine, but pulled out of the project before filming began.
Laurence Fishburne is also involved, playing the role of Vick, Henry’s boss, as well as Jonathon Pryce, who plays Bill Compton.

His works include the New York Times bestseller The Tourist, published in 2009, which follows former undercover CIA agent Milo Weaver whose old life haunts him.
Shortly after its release, George took over Clooney’s production company bought the film rights to The Tourist and the actor was rumored to be playing the protagonist himself, but for unknown reasons it never came out.
Steinhauer has written a total of 11 spy books, followed by The Tourist with a Milo Weaver series.
He also wrote the series Yalta Boulevard and started the project in 2001, which traces the history of a fictional European country during its communist period between 1949 and 1989.
His film repertoire also includes Berlin Station, which he wrote and produced, a spy drama series.
