Is Genshin Impact coming to the Nintendo Switch? answered

Since its release in 2020, Genshin Impact is still one of the most popular games on the market. Released for both PC, PlayStation and mobile, this action RPG from HoYoverse is still missing a major console. Well, except Xbox, Genshin Impact is not available on Nintendo Switch. Still, ahead of its September 2020 release, HoYoverse announced that it plans to release its gacha game on the Switch. Three years later we answer if Genshin Impact is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Where is Genshin Impact for Nintendo Switch?

In January 2020, HoYoverse confirmed this Genshin Impact would also come to Nintendo Switch. Since this was announced even before the official game was released on current consoles, it’s surprising not to hear much news three years later. Unfortunately, the answer to the pressing question so far is like this Genshin Impact should be coming to the Switch, but there’s no news yet on when that will be.

The Nintendo Switch itself has already started to age since it was launched in 2017. Now that he’s over six years old, some Nintendo fans are expecting the company to unveil its next-gen console. Presumably Nintendo will keep the Switch formula but expand it and make it run better. At least that’s what many Switch fans hope, because Nintendo’s latest main console is still very popular.

Reasons why Genshin Impact may not yet be on Switch

But why could HoYoverse last so long? There are no answers to this question at the moment. Until now, Genshin Impact uses cross-progression so you can play on your PC, console and mobile with the same account. That the Switch is another console for cross-progression doesn’t sound too difficult, but I’m no expert on the subject, so who’s to say.

HoYoverse is also now focusing a lot of its efforts on its new game Honkai: Starway. HoYoverse may be holding back on plans to release their next open-world role-playing game on April 26 after a successful beta playtest Genshin Impact for the switch.

Maybe the problem is how big Genshin Impact Is. This open-world ARPG gets bigger with the update, with four main regions already available and a few more promised. Regardless of the console, this game takes up a lot of download space. The Nintendo Switch relies on internal storage and microSD card storage. Internally, Genshin Impact would take up way too much space and leave it to the microSD card, which can be costly.

But the Switch is no stranger to big games, so hopefully that won’t be an issue when this game comes out. Nevertheless, our answer to if Genshin Impact coming to the Nintendo Switch is a sad maybe. Luckily it hasn’t been canceled yet, so there’s still hope!
