Is Thanos Eternal?

Yes, Thanos is an Eternal. In Marvel Comics, Thanos is closely related to the Eternals because he is their direct descendant. Thanos is the son of Al’ars, whose father is Kronos. After a civil war divided the Eternals colony, Kronos ruled the Eternals of Earth.

Described as ‘the most evil, bloodthirsty and powerful villain in the universe’, Thanos is a cross between Eternals-Deviant. It is his dual identity as Eternal and Deviant that makes his appearance different (especially his purple color and prominent chin).

In a post-credits scene, fans are introduced to Eros (Harry Styles), who is introduced by his sidekick Pip as Thanos’ brother. While Thanos’ saga ended in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, his familial connection to the Eternals could mean his backstory will be explored further in any installment. What’s next for the Eternals.
