Is there garbage collection on Easter Monday 2022? Vacation schedule revealed

Easter Monday (April 18, 2022) is fast approaching and residents across the United States are wondering if there will be garbage pickup on the second day of Bright Week.

During the Easter holiday weekend, many grocery stores, post offices, restaurants and other retail outlets had different opening hours, while some remained closed.

We take a look at garbage collection schedules for various counties as the second day of the Easter flood descends.

Is there garbage collection on Easter Monday 2022?

Garbage pickup schedules on various holidays and days like Easter Monday are different for each county or city in each state.

That City of Philadelphia website announced: “Following a public holiday observed by the city, garbage and recyclables collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.”

While Good Friday is a city-observed public holiday, meaning Friday’s trash was picked up on Saturday, Easter Monday is not a city-wide rest day, so there will be no changes in the pickup schedule.

That City of West Haven in Connecticut has also announced on its website that only four public holidays in 2022 will delay curbside pickup by one day. These are Memorial Day (Monday, May 30), Independence Day (Monday, July 4), Labor Day (Monday, September 5), and Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 24).

As such, there will be no changes to garbage collection in the City of West Haven on Easter Monday.

for Maryland’s Montgomery County, April 18 is once again not a county holiday, unlike New Year’s Day – January 1 and Martin Luther King Jr. Day – the third Monday in January. Therefore, garbage collection will take place as usual.

Likewise in Shreveport LAshould the garbage collection work as usual on Easter Monday, since her collection holiday for the long weekend was on Good Friday.

  • Christmas Day (note) – Monday 26th December 2022
