Fans are wondering if Verdansk is coming back Call of Duty: Warzone in 2022 following new updates shared by the development team.
And while there are encouraging signs that something is in the works, there are no plans for the card to return this year.
So what did the recent comments regarding Verdansk’s return to Warzone mean?
Here’s what we know so far about what’s planned for the future of the Call of Duty franchise.
Is Verdansk Coming Back To Call Of Duty Warzone?
Activision and Raven Software have confirmed that Verdansk 2022 will not return to Call of Duty Warzone and that the current system cannot support map rotations. This was shared by Josh Bridge, COD’s head of live operations, while being interviewed by Twitch streamer and former COD coach TeeP.
He told Teep that install and reinstall sizes make it a difficult technical issue that would result in Caldera having to be retired and Verdansk brought back, resulting in large downloads and player loss. So what does the latest update mean for Verdansk and the future of Call of Duty Warzone? A new clip was shared by an Activision employee It stated that Verdansk would return to certain platforms in 2023 without announcing a timeline or confirmed release dates.
But as the comments were made and clips of them shared, they have since been deleted and no official confirmation has been made. So currently there are no plans for Verdansk to return as part of Warzone’s current form. Things could be different when the sequel arrives or a mobile game launches, but with the current version of the game available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, there’s a very slim chance of something like that happening.
