Jacqueline Laurita updates on daughter Ashlee Malleo

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” alum Jacqueline Laurita last appeared in the show’s seventh season, which premiered in 2016. The mother-of-two gave an update on her eldest child, Ashlee Holmes-Malleo, 32, while recording an episode of the February 2023 podcast Two Ts In A Pod hosted by Bravo personalities Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave.

During the “Two Ts In A Pod” episode, Laurita noted that her daughter was diagnosed with Bipolar II in 2022. She shared that the 32-year-old is doing well and has been vocal about her mental health on social media since taking the diagnosis.

“She’s good. She found out she was diagnosed with bipolar and she’s dealing with it a lot, which explains how many things she felt and went through,” the former RHONJ personality explained. “Now she’s very open about it Um. She talks on her social media about how her kind of steps and you know how she helps herself. She’s fine.”

Laurita also claimed that Holmes-Malleo was “a great mother to her son Cameron.” The six-year-old is fathered by Holmes-Malleo’s ex-husband, Pete Malleo.

Ashlee Holmes-Malleo has been candid about her mental health on social media

Holmes-Malleo has been transparent about her mental health struggles on her Instagram account. In a June 2022 Instagram postthe mother of one shared that she was “diagnosed with Bipolar II and BPD [Borderline Personality Disorder]She also shared that after her diagnosis, she “made the personal decision to start medication immediately.”

In the caption of the post, she shared, “The last year has been filled with heartbreak and stress [her].” She noted that while there were “many amazing moments,” she was “grateful” for her support system and therapy.

Holmes-Malleo told her Instagram followers that she was “proud” of her.

“We made it. We weathered another year of ups and downs. Don’t let anyone disregard your healing journey. The right person(s) will embrace you with grace, empathy, and healthy communication no matter what. That’s true for relationships, friendships, family, etc. Just know you’re not broken. You’re enough,” read part of the caption.

Ashlee Holmes-Malleo has revealed if she’ll be back in RHONJ

As fans of RHONJ know, Holmes-Malleo appeared in several seasons of the Bravo franchise until 2016. Speaking to Page Six in February 2023, Holmes-Malleo revealed if she would be ready to return to the series. She explained that she doesn’t think she’s right for the show as she doesn’t have a “flamboyant lifestyle.”

“I would never say no to that paycheck, but I don’t know if it would make sense. Like maybe a similar ‘friend of’ if they would pay me a little something,” the Bravo graduate shared.

She clarified that she would be interested in starring in “a nice little spin-off” focused on children of RHONJ personalities.
