Jada Pinkett Smith shared a quote on Instagram after Will Smith’s controversial slap of Chris Rock during the 2022 Academy Awards.

On Sunday, during the Oscars, Rock took the stage and presented the winner for Best Documentary. He made a joke about Pinkett Smith in GI Jane 2 because of her shaved head. Her husband got up from his seat in the front row and walked to the stage, seemingly hitting Rock and then said twice, “Keep my wife’s name out of your frigging mouth”.

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, Pinkett Smith shared a quote on Instagram that read, “This is a healing season and I’m here for it,” which was her first public statement since the slap.

She first revealed her diagnosis in 2018, after people.

“A lot of people have asked me why I wear turbans. Well I haven’t talked about it. It’s not easy to talk about, but I’ll talk about it,” she said on her Red Table Talk series, the outlet reported. “One day I was in the shower with just a handful of hair in my hands and I was like, ‘Oh my god, am I going bald?'” she added. “It was one of those moments in my life where I was literally shaking with fear. That’s why I cut my hair and keep cutting it.”

He issued a public apology on Rock no Monday, March 28th, writing: “Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior at the Oscars last night was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s health was too much for me and I reacted emotionally. I want to apologize to you publicly, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I’m embarrassed and my actions were no indication of the man I want to be. In a world of love and kindness there is no place for violence.”

He also apologized to the Academy and his “King Richard Family,” which he represented at the Oscars on Sunday.

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all contestants and all viewers around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I deeply regret that my behavior marred what was otherwise a beautiful journey for all of us. I’m a work in progress.”

Rock has not yet commented on the slap.
