James Jordan reveals ‘a rough couple of days’ as his daughter Ella, 2, ‘really unwell’ with an ear infection

James Jordan has revealed his daughter, who he shares with wife Ola, is “really unwell” with a double ear infection.

The professional dancer, 44, often takes to Twitter to share his critiques and opinions on Strictly Come Dancing each week.

However, this Saturday he took to the social media platform to reveal he would not be tweeting as usual as his two-year-old daughter Ella was ill.

He explained he’s had “a rough couple of days” as Ella has been suffering from a month-long illness.

James tweeted: “Sorry folks – Ella is really bad so won’t be tweeting tonight. Big love to all.’

After fans flooded the star with messages of support, he took to Twitter on Sunday to write: “Hi guys – thanks for all the lovely messages about Ella.

“She’s still pretty bad, but better. After 1 month of illness she now has an ear infection in both ears so the few days have been tough. But she’s a Jordan and a fighter!’

He then added: “It’s hard to see Ella having so much pain from her ear infection.

“She is on antibiotics – calpol every 4 hours and ibuprofen every 4 hours but 2 hours later.

“I came to 111 after 1 hour 10 minutes and they said see a doctor in the morning. She just said to Ola while crying, “What should I do?”

It comes after Ellie Taylor became the ninth celebrity to leave this year’s series on Sunday night after finding herself dancing against singer Fleur East, 35, and her professional partner Vito Coppola, 30.

After finishing in the bottom two, Ellie played Van Morrison’s heir Jive to Brown Eyed Girl to stay in contention.

However, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke voted unanimously to save Fleur and Vito after performing their rumba to Too Lost in You by the Sugababes.

After both couples danced a second time, the judges announced their verdicts.

Craig chose to save Fleur and Vito, stating “Just based on technique, I’d like to save Fleur and Vito.”

Motsi also opted to save the pair, saying: “First of all I want to say that both pairs played really well, also for me the technical aspect was very important so I will save Fleur and Vito.”

Anton added: “Well I just want to congratulate both couples on making it this far in the competition. Both danced beautifully.

“I thought Ellie did a great job in your jive. And Fleur, I found your technique strong and your performance strong and I would like to save Fleur and Vito.’

With three votes for Fleur and Vito, it meant they had won the majority of the vote and would still remain in contention, but Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she also chose to save Fleur and Vito.

When asked by host Tess Daly if it was everything she expected, Ellie said: “It was and is, I’m going to be a cliché machine now, but it was everything and more. I never in a million years expected to be there for so long and experience it so fully.

“It’s all about the dancing, but it’s also about the people and every part of this show from top to bottom, from the execs to the makeup, from the hair to the costumes, from the sets to the band, too my fellow celebrities and the dancers – even some of the judges were fine! It was an absolute privilege to be part of the Strictly alumni and I really loved it.”

When asked about her special relationship with Johannes, Ellie said: “We had so much fun. And to borrow an Antonism, let me tell you about you, Johannes Radebe. You [Johannes] You are as wonderful as all of you have said and I have said you are a human sunshine and you really really are.

“You see people and you’ve seen me, at every point. I was so worried and so out of my comfort zone and so confident and so weird and you said hug your weird Ellie. You did it with all your heart and without judgement.

“It’s been an absolute privilege to dance with you JoJo, I don’t know what’s going through your body but it’s not blood it’s rhythm and it’s music and watching you perform is amazing.”

When asked if he had any words for his partner, Johannes said: “Oh my god – it was a pleasure honey, that’s our thing. Ellie Taylor, go forward, embrace your madness! Embrace your long limbs because you are a beautiful person. So thank you for everything, you know my heart, thank you.’
