Jamie Lee Curtis wants Dr. Playing Kureha in Netflix series – The Hollywood Reporter

Jamie Lee Curtis has his sights set on a specific role at Netflix One pieceand the show’s team seems confident that it will succeed.
Curtis picked it up Instagram on Friday to address a growing fan movement pushing to cast the Oscar-winning actor as Dr. Casting Kureha in the live-action project. Based on the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, One piece The focus is on a boy named Monkey D. Luffy and his fellow Straw Hat Pirates on a search for the titular treasure.
“Once the blow to AMTPT’s greed is settled with a fair contract, I will commit to becoming Doctor Kureha on @onepiecenetflix alongside the growing enthusiasm of fans,” Curtis captioned her post.
This prompted Matt Owens, who is the series’ co-showrunner alongside Steven Maeda, to write in the comments section: “My dearest Mama, that’s why we sent you this figure!” No need to lobby. Once we get what we deserve and get back to work, let’s talk!”
Curtis followed up her initial remarks with another post With footage of herself in a media interview to promote 2022 Halloween ends. During the session about a year ago, the star pointed out that her daughter Ruby Guest encouraged her to see Dr. Playing Kureha, a grey-haired doctor on Drum Island.
One piece launched on Netflix last month and was quickly renewed for a second season two weeks later. Oda’s statement on the renewal included a reference to the casting process for Dr. Kureha: “From now on, I think the Straw Hats are going to need a great doctor… We’ll see!”
