Former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Jax Taylor opens up about his former best friend’s affair.

Taylor was traveling to New York City with his wife, Brittany Cartwright, and was on some sort of media tour. During an interview with People magazine, Taylor spoke about the relationship between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss and explained why Sandoval chose Leviss.

“I have known Tom Sandoval for 20 years. i know who he is There’s a reason it’s Raquel. it’s because it can be controlled,” Taylor said in the interview that was posted on People’s TikTok.

“And Ariana is a very strong, independent woman and that’s her way, which I like. That’s what Brittany is like,” Taylor explained. “But you can’t control them. And he, I think, loves to be in control. You know, he likes being able to tell her what to do. And I think Raquel is very easily influenced. I think she’s very codependent. And I think he kind of takes advantage of that. So I think it’s her,” he continued. He went on to call Leviss a “fangirl.”

Taylor and Cartwright officially split from Bravo in 2020.

Jax Taylor says he has a problem with Tom Sandoval, who doesn’t apologize

In his very first post after news of the scandal broke, Sandoval took to Instagram to ask people not to take their hate for him out on his business.

“Just like TomTom, I am a small part of a much bigger thing. Please direct your anger at me and not at her. You haven’t done anything wrong. I am so sorry that my partners Greg, Brett and Schwartz and our staff are suffering for my actions. Out of respect for my employees and partners, I will step back and take a break.” he wrote on March 4, 2o23.

It wasn’t until March 8, 2023 that Sandoval was posted another statement on social media that included an apology to Madix — although Taylor doesn’t think it was sincere.

“I really don’t have a leg to stand on on this subject. I’ve done my fair share of bad things. Where I have a problem is the lack of empathy. That doesn’t apologize. Have your crisis PR team write you a message saying you need to get off your little pedestal for a minute and stop making this about Tom Sandoval and make better decisions and get off Vander… You write that not. It’s weird,” Taylor said in his interview with People.

Several people praised Taylor for his attitude.

“Never in my life in pop culture did I think Jax Taylor would break it down for us with such maturity,” one TikTok user commented on the video.

“Wow, never thought I’d say this but… well said Jax,” said another.

Jax Taylor first responded to the scandal on Twitter

After TMZ reports that Sandoval and Madix were breaking up and that there were rumors of an affair between Sandoval and Leviss, Taylor took to Twitter to respond.

“I told you all” he tweeted in reply to someone who posted about girls from miami. For those unfamiliar with the show, Sandoval was accused of sleeping with a girl named Annemarie Kunkel during a trip to Miami. The person making the claims was none other than his ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute.

“I’ve said a lot of things on this show that people never believed…everything I say always ends up being true…#pumprules,” Taylor wrote in another tweet.

He reflected those feelings an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“I mean, I don’t want to say I predicted it, but I did predict it. I mean, I’m just not surprised, I’m just not surprised, I’m just leaving it at that,” he said.
