Jay Leno was hospitalized after an accident with severe burns

Comedian Jay Leno has canceled all appearances and is in a burn center after suffering a serious facial injury. TMZ reports that he was parking his cars in a Los Angeles garage on Sunday and one of the vehicles caught fire without warning.

Sources with direct knowledge tell the outlet that the gasoline fire burned the left side of Jay’s face but did not enter his eye or ear.

Leno hasn’t been shy about his health issues in recent years, namely high cholesterol, leading fans to believe the medical emergency was related to his ongoing cholesterol problems, the outlet reports.

“There’s a lot of people walking around like that, they’re just time bombs. You’ve got all this cholesterol, you don’t realize it until it actually hits you know? Said Leno at the time. “It’s like in a car, if even a little dirt gets into the needle eye of the nozzle, and boom and no more petrol comes out. And that happens with your heart.”
