Jeans Trends 2022: Shop Denim from DL1961, Good American and More

I realized that I literally hate all of my jeans. No, really! For some reason, the pairings I’m dealing with in the pre-pandemic era have just turned me off and I’m ready to launch a whole new denim wardrobe. Luckily, I was able to look at the runway for the best insight into denim trends for 2022 and shop accordingly.

In particular, I find the denim on the Milan SS22 runway particularly enviable. At MSGM and Missoni, the models mastered the cool-girl look with their shorter, super baggy silhouettes definitely giving me Avril Lavigne “Sk8r Boi” at her best.

At Fabiana Filippi and Genny, denim has become more formal thanks to ultra-dark rinses, a look that I personally have always loved. If you don’t have a pair of dark blue jeans in your arsenal, it’s time to buy them.

And amazingly, some of the top denim moments on the catwalk weren’t jeans at all: Denim skirts are back, honey! And so are the denim mini skirts. Your inner Britney and Justin channel (but, like, make it fashion) and don’t limit yourself to a classic jeans look when playing with patterned denim.

I never thought I’d see the day, but jeans are back, people! In middle school, I was known for my break with low-rise pants and UGG boots, but I promise the 2022 model will be a bit more chic. The trend is also in denim skirts, as seen on the Münn SS22 runway in Milan.

Just in case you’ve been holding out hope for a skinny jeans revival, it’s time to accept that they’re really never coming back. Brands from MSGM to Missoni have showcased loose, comfortable denim on the runways in Milan, more often with faded washes and under-button belts. Sorry in advance.
