Yes, Jeff Probst is included in the program
TMZ broke the news on December 8 that CBS had filmed a show like “Survivor” with celebrities as students. Deadline and Variety have now confirmed the news, and they’ve also confirmed that “Survivor” host Jeff Probst is involved.
Diversity reports that the show will be called “Beyond The Edge” stating that it “is said to have been filmed in Bocas del Toro, Panama, in September and October of this year.” Variety also reports that the company behind the show is Renegade 83, the same production company that produced the “Naked and A Fear” series for the Discovery Channel.
Limit line reports that Jeff Probst is “not currently officially involved” but that he is “involved in the project” and is “expected to sign up as a [executive producer] of the program.”
Sources have told TMZ that the show will feature the same types of challenges and conditions as the original “Survivor,” which is hopefully true – there had been a similar program to this one called “Survivor” before. I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” aired its first season on ABC in 2003 and then aired a second season on NBC in 2009. Although it was a successful reality show in United Kingdom, but the US version was never really successful. Hopefully with the participation of Probst, the “Survivor” version will be more successful than “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here”.
Release date & rumored cast
According to TMZ, the celebrities they know so far who have participated in the show include “Famous elder brother” season one alum Metta World Peace; “Bachelor” Colton Underwood, whose new documentary is coming to Netflix; former NFL player Ray Lewis; “Full(er) House” star Jodie Sweetin; “The Real Housewives of New York” Eboni K. Williams, and model Paulina Porizkova.
In addition to having appeared on other reality shows, four of those celebrities have also appeared on “Dance with the stars.”
Metta finished 12th in season 13 along with partner Peta Murgatroyd; Ray had to withdraw due to injury in the third week of season 28 along with teammate Cheryl Burke; Jodie Sweetin finished sixth in season 22 alongside partner Keo Motsepe; and Paulina placed 11th in season 4 alongside partner Alec Mazo.
TMZ reports that the show will launch in April 2022 and each participating celebrity will play for the charity of their choice. There are no other types of deaths at this time, and CBS has declined to officially comment on the reports.
But if celebrity reality shows are your thing and April is too long to wait for this new show, CBS announced in November 2021 that the third season of “Celebrity Big Brother” will premiere on Wednesday, February 2.
“Survivor 41” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The The 42nd season premieres Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Seasons 43 and 44 are currently streaming, so if you’ve always wanted to apply, now’s your chance!
