Jen Psaki says in his latest indictment that Trump is “already fundraising.”

If you’re reading this, you know that former President Donald Trump was impeached again Thursday afternoon. Of course, the MSNBC programs throughout the station’s Thursday night programming dwelled heavily on this topic.
Including (sorry) “All-In With Chris Hayes,” where Hayes hosted a roundtable discussion about the news, which was also attended by MSNBC host and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. She noted during the discussion that Trump is already using this news to raise money from supporters, a fact she noted in contrast to the way Joe Biden is likely to discuss the matter.
So, in case you have some catching up to do, Trump’s latest indictment addresses undisclosed federal charges arising from the special counsel’s investigation into his handling of classified documents. The news came out Thursday, as Trump announced it himself, and the charge has since been corroborated by several major outlets, including NBC.

However, the government has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, so we’ll have to wait and see exactly what Trump is being accused of. That could happen on Tuesday when Trump appears in federal court. Going by recent history, however, it’s likely that the details will emerge sooner. Read more about the whole thing here.
Meanwhile, on MSNBC, Hayes asked Psaki, “I wonder how you feel about how the Biden administration is handling this, how the Democrats are handling this, how the Republicans in Congress are handling this.”
“This isn’t Alvin Bragg in Manhattan, who isn’t part of the Biden administration,” Hayes continued, referring to the district attorney overseeing Trump’s fraud case in New York City. “You can shower him with contempt and say nasty things about him with all sorts of, you know, pretty gross, racist undertones. [But] This is the United States Department of Justice, of which Joe Biden is currently President.”
“Exactly,” Psaki replied, “I mean, I think Trump is clear — he’s already raising money for this or trying to, and he’s clearly going to try to rally the grassroots like he did in connection with the indictment.” .” Alvin Bragg.”
“This case is different for several reasons. “One of them is a bit more complicated than this one, just from a pure messaging standpoint,” Psaki says on the continuation.
“Who means someone is obstructing justice, someone is withholding classified documents and possibly sharing them in a way that could harm our national security, that’s something else. And we should acknowledge that in terms of how it’s communicated,” Psaki said.
“I expect the White House will handle that,” she said, “that Joe Biden is an institutionalist, he believes in separating the branches of government, and I suspect they’re going to do that very much in all that.” they say limited. Especially in the short term.”
“Longer term, if there are more indictments…there are opportunities to talk about the value of our national security, of our rule, once we move past the period of pure politicization or accusations of the law, for democracy.” And there is a way for Joe Biden to do that in campaign and speeches. But for now, I expect they will be very calm, just like the Democrats,” Psaki clarified.
