Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans took to Facebook in the early hours of February 22 to share her thoughts after seeing a photo of Kaden, her husband David Eason’s son, with his mother Olivia Leedham.

“If only she would take David’s calls over the past few years. It would have been nice for him to say “Happy Birthday”. It would have been nice if Ensley had talked to her other brother. It would have been great if he had been with us on our trip to the mountains when we were skiing like we took him to Disney a while ago,” Evans opened up, defending her husband. “You see some fathers who do NOT want to be involved in their children’s lives but David has tried EVERYTHING and YOU can’t take a call and why? For control? IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY CO-PARENTED AND COULD GET ON. I wouldn’t post this but damn it’s a bit ridiculous that this has been going on for so long. My kids wonder about their other brother every day. ☹️💔”

David Eason lost custody of Kaden in 2019

Evans’ frustration with Leedham’s alleged unwillingness to co-parent Eason comes years after her husband first lost custody of Kaden in 2019. Us weekly reported at the time that Eason was allowed to see Kaden on alternate weekends in 2018 and 2019, but Kaden “began to exhibit a range of alarming visitation-related behaviors,” including requests not to visit his father.

Court filings at the time of the June 2019 decision stated: “Since the entry into force of the custody order dated February 6, 2018, there has been a material change in circumstances affecting the minor child’s best interests. This is in the best interests of the minor child [Leedham] shall have sole legal and physical custody of the parties’ minor child.”

The court documents also cited a 2018 911 call from Evans, who claimed Eason assaulted her while the children, including Kaden, slept in the home.

This also comes months after reports that Eason shot and killed her family dog, Nugget, after Nugget bit his and Evans’ daughter, Ensley.

Fans took to Evans’ comments section to weigh up their decision to call Leedham on the public platform, a decision not many agreed with.

“That’s just going to cause a lot more controversy and be the totally wrong way to change the situation. If that were intentional then the right steps would be taken,” one fan wrote, to which Evans replied, “Well so it’s nice if she picks up the phone so David can talk to his son. 🤷🏻‍♀️”.

Another user suggested Evans take legal action, writing: “Then go to court, he hasn’t tried everything if he hasn’t taken you to court”. Evans confirmed in her reply: “We trust me”.

One user supported Evans in the comments, writing: “I have been through the same thing with my husband’s 3 daughters, the mother is keeping them away because of her bitterness and is disappointing to all her children and mine and affected by this . There are men who don’t want to be fathers, so mothers don’t have to crowd out those who do. ❤️” to which Evans replied: “I know! And we try to include his son in our family outings. We have in the past and now there is no communication. He tries to call at least once a week.”
