Just months later the death of Larry the llama, Jenny and Dave Marrs mourn another animal on their farm. In a post dated September 4, 2022 on InstagramJenny revealed that one of the family’s sheep, Sunny, had died.

That HGTV star shared a video montage of the deceased sheep with the caption: “This place and these animals have brought us so much kindness and joy. But the reality of this life we’ve chosen is that there are tough, tough days too. Yesterday was pretty brutal.”

The Fixer to Fabulous host documented Sunny’s week-long health struggle on social media. On August 29, 2022, she revealed on her Instagram Story that he contracted a parasite from a native deer.

“Sunny, you were loved so much, mate,” Jenny continued her tribute. “You were Char’s favorite because you were so friendly, how big and goofy your beard was and because you loved apples. I am so thankful that she could feed you your favorite treat one last time before you left. You fought so hard and so did we. We hated saying goodbye. I trust that as we sit here in our mourning, you will graze in the most lush pasture beside your old pal Larry. Rest in peace sweet boy.”

As Jenny documented many times, her daughter Charlotte, 8, helped with Sunny’s care.

“I can’t tell you how much it means that you’ve prayed for Sunny and our family…Char is a little animal lover and has been at my side throughout the fight for Sunny’s recovery,” she added on her Instagram story . “She takes his loss really hard. It’s a sad day here. If you like, say a prayer for her little heart.”

Jenny was inundated with messages of condolences

That “rock the blockThe alum was inundated with messages of condolences in her comments section.

Among them was “Farmhouse Fixer‘ star Jonathan Knight. He wrote: “The love we give to our animals comes back tenfold…always heartbreaking when they are ill or leave this amazing world. I send you all a big hug!”

Kimberly Schlapman from Small big city adding: “Oh I’m so sorry!! [heart and praying hands emojis].”

The Marrs family llama died in March 2022

The Marrs family lost their llama in March 2022. Jenny remembered and paid tribute to Larry at the time on Instagram to his “silly smile” and his “crooked gallop”.

“You fought so hard,” Jenny captioned his portrait. “It has been my great privilege to spend the past week taking care of you 24 hours a day. Our whole family has helped administer medication, give you shots and electrolytes, hand feed you, pray for you and cheer you on.”

The Marrs are also parents to twins Nathan and Ben, 12, Sylvie, 10, and Luke, 3. While the whole family helped with Larry’s care, they were more cautious when it came to Sunny.

She previously revealed on her Instagram Story that they “have decided not to let Luke help care for Sunny because he is still very, very saddened by Larry’s passing. Man I love how cute deer are, but they’re brutal to our rangeland.”

Like Sunny, Larry contracted a parasite transmitted by white-tailed deer.

Jenny was responding to a question in Sunny’s post about the difficulty of preventing the parasite from spreading. She wrote: “We have the guard dogs to keep deer out of the pasture but they end up grazing on the land around the pasture and then the rain washes their droppings onto the pasture. This cannot be avoided and is very frustrating.”

Next up will be Jenny and Dave Ben and Erin Napier second season of “Home Town Takeover”. Together they enliven the city of Fort Morgan, Colorado.
