Jessica Simpson looks really great – but behind closed doors the 41-year-old has been struggling with her 100lbs. weight loss. “I think it’s all about setting small goals and then eventually the impossible becomes possible,” Jessica said Us weekly in a new interview published on Friday, April 15 — just days after she vacationed in Los Cabos, where she wore a pink bikini from her own clothing brand.
“I was so proud of myself and I was proud of resilience no matter what people say. … I think the positive comments above [my weight loss journey] are what I’m sticking to and that’s why I posted [the Instagram photo] — for that one person to go in and feel better and work really hard,” she said. “Because when you work really hard to look and feel like you do in a very happy moment, especially with your kids, it’s very empowering and it made me feel so emotional,” Jessica added on the post in which she also details that she has gained and lost 100 pounds.
The mother-of-three has seen her body change and evolve over the years, particularly through her pregnancies – but ultimately says her journey with weight has been about “empowerment” and “self-love”. She added: “I don’t really see it as a weight loss journey. I think it’s a journey of empowerment and self-love and acceptance… It’s one of those things [where] It’s like we all want what we can’t have. We all want the body type we’re not [and] that we can’t change it. So it’s about accepting and loving us for who we are.”

“For me, I’ve done that at every size [and] I just think every woman should be celebrated,” she said. Jessica sharing children maxwell9, ace8 and Bird3, with husband Eric JohnsonShe also shared that she had “no idea” she was going to rock that particular bikini on her recent family vacation.
“I had no idea I was going to wear a bikini. Well, that was just the way it was at the moment. I brought some bikinis, but I had one-pieces [as well]. That was my journey,” she told the magazine. “I put on the bikini [and] I was like, ‘Oh my god, I can wear a bikini. That’s what happened.’” The April 7 post quickly went viral on the ‘Gram’, leaving behind many messages of support for the open book Author.
“I was really proud. So I thought, ‘Here I go, I’ll do it.’ … My babies are worth the weight gain. I’m just the type of person who gains a lot of weight [while] pregnant but I fought [with it] my whole life because of what was perfect for me or what I didn’t have,” Jessica explained. “I really have a feeling [that once] people began [to] Hug me in a larger size, it made me feel very confident. It made me feel like everyone deserves to be commended in any size.”
