NFL Draft Analyst Russell Brown from Woodward Sports and Cover-1 shared a blockbuster series during his weekly appearance on The Manchild Show with Boy Green on The Score 1260:

“There are a number of things that have been discussed over the past few days at that fourth pick. Obviously, they can go a lot of different ways but basically, I think that choice is only for two players for Jet. I think the first one is Sauce Gardner because Robert Saleh loves himself to the edge. I think you look at Richard Sherman in San Francisco, I think Sauce means a lot there. Although if the Jets do get past Sauce, I think the reason why is because they go at 4th speed and I think it could be Jameson Williams from Alabama. ”

A source told him the Jets “loved him at the age of four” and that it would provide them with a “superior vertical option” for midfielder Zach Wilson.

In theory, it should complete the trio at wide receiver with Corey Davis (physical), Elijah Moore (player) and Williams (deep threat and number 1 alpha).

If this materializes, Williams will become the highest drafted extender by the Jets since Keyshawn Johnson was the overall #1 pick in 1996 among USCs.

Seems hard to believe

The Jets Zone: Deebo Samuel trade, Mel Kiper mock reactionBoy Green dances LIVE to talk about Deebo Samuel’s deal, reaction to Mel Kiper Jr’s latest test draft, and a BIG tease coming up about a BIG guest talking about the New York Jets and NFL Draft 2022!2022-04-14T05: 05:05Z

A wide receiver going to Jet in 4th place is not an entirely unfamiliar subject in mock drafts. In fact, ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr often puts a receiver there.

However, shock value comes with both the decision and the player.

Williams is coming off of a torn ACL he suffered in the College Football Knockout Qualifiers. That injury will likely keep him out for part of the 2022 season.

However, his camp still insists that he may be willing to go to training camp, which will be an active and optimistic detox plan.

With so much demand for Jets in various positions such as EDGE jets, attack lines, full-backs, full-backs, safety and inner line of defense, it would be bold for Jet if ignore all those positions to get a wide receiver out of a trauma.

That seems like a luxury option for a team that can’t seem to afford to take that kind of calculated risk.

Part of the reason behind this bomb blast was that the Jets feared that when they got back to the clock with an overall pick of 10, Williams wouldn’t be there. In other words, if they love him as much as they have, then they’ll have to activate on overall pick 4 to make sure they land him.
