Most people think Jimmy Garoppolo will be trading long ago. However, with just over a month left until the NFL season begins, Garoppolo is still a 49-year-old player. At this point, it is easy to assume that Garoppolo will stay on the team for at least a couple of weeks at seaBoy. Some sportsbooks disagree with that story.
49ers have the fourth highest odds to beat Garoppolo? Huh? I mean, I’m assuming this is trying to determine where he’ll be in Week 1, and if that’s the case, I’ll shell out a bunch of money for San Fran. Inaccurate rumors are swirling around Garoppolo, and if any team really wants to win the Super Bowl twice (as a fallback), a deal could have been reached, right?
What does every other team look like, though? Browns are meaningful favorites. The NFL doesn’t want Deeshaun Watson to play this season, so the Browns’ acquisition of Garoppolo would be a safety valve for the team. Considering Cleveland even made sure they won’t have to spend a lot of money on Watson in 2022 For fear of him being suspended, a serviceable midfielder like Garoppolo at a hefty price tag could succeed.
Giants also have a point. In fact, I’m surprised they aren’t more rumored to be entering the Garoppolo market. That said, the fact that interest isn’t there makes me think there’s no chance of the team moving from Daniel Jones this season. While Garoppolo might be a better full-back than Jones, Jones is cheaper and won’t consume any of the team’s resources. Regardless of whether the Giants have Jones or Garoppolo in midfield, they won’t be a strong contender for the playoffs. So why spend resources to keep your team in pretty much the same shape? Just draft or sign a quarter next year.
Texans make absolutely no sense. Basically, everything I’ve said about the Giants can be said about the Texans as well, with the exception of Texas quarterback Davis Mills who showed some potential last year. Unlike Jones, Mills might actually be good enough to start an NFL franchise. He was arguably the most effective rookie quarterback last year, and given the price of his third-round rookie contract, the Texans feel more comfortable handing the reins to Mills in 2022. They is in the process of being rebuilt. Garoppolo won’t pull them off, and Mills might even be a better choice than Garoppolo. Jimmy G didn’t go to Texas.
Seahawks at +1000 make sense. As well as desperate for the ‘Hawks to want a quarterback, the 49ers have expressed that the price for Seattle will be substantially higher than the price for an undivided opponent. Seahawks also have stand firm resisting giving the 49ers any resources as forcing them to keep Garoppolo would put the 49ers in dire straits. However, if the 49ers come to the Seahawks with a good deal, the ‘Hawks will be inclined to take it. However, it will be at a much lower price than the Niners can afford somewhere else, so I really think Seattle’s odds here are reasonable.
One team that I’m surprised isn’t here at all is Pittsburgh Steelers. For a long time, I thought the Steelers would be the perfect pick for Garoppolo. Mike Tomlin has never relied on midfield mobility to prolong play, plus Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth will provide tools similar to what Garoppolo did at San. Francisco. Combined with the fact that Mitch Trubisky looks worse at camp More than an undercooked roast beef sandwich from Arby’s after a week of sun exposure, Garoppolo makes sense. The Steelers have playoff aspirations in 2022, and Garoppolo will be an obvious upgrade in their defence. I know the rumor isn’t there, but Steelers has too much meaning from a football point of view to completely remove this graphic.
However, as I said earlier, Garoppolo staying on the 49ers’ roster through Week 1 is the best bet for my money. Teams appear to be concerned about his role and Kyle Shanahan’s reliance on the system, and the 49ers have not received an offer they believe aligns with the value Garoppolo brings. With Garoppolo delete to practiceThe Niners need to start letting him train for the opposing teams, because until they see his progress close, the deal the Niners want for their midfielder won’t be done.
