Will there be one? John Wick: Chapter 5 is the burning question since there would actually be one John Wick 5 back if 4 And 5 were announced at the same time. However, the end of John Wick: Chapter 4 made it pretty clear to most that making a fifth film would be difficult and that we would have to survive on spin-off films and TV shows. That is – until everyone started talking about a John Wick: Chapter 5 one more time and it turns out 4 had a completely alternate ending where Wick was clearly alive which would have made it even easier 5.
“We had a different ending,” said director Chad Stahelski Rich. “[The theatrical ending] was the ending Keanu and I wanted, but we shot a different ending. We shot an ending where you actually saw John Wick at the end of the film. So it was very clear that he was still alive. The audiences we tested with absolutely preferred the ambiguous ending.”

How ambiguous the end of John Wick: Chapter 4 Arguably, the whole drive of the film is for John to finally find peace and do so while “dying” on the steps after the film’s final showdown. It is clear why this is so 4 The alternative ending didn’t go down too well with audiences as the life of John Wick clearly feels like a betrayal not just of this film but of the series as a whole. However, what is not ambiguous is the amount of money John Wick: Chapter 4 made and the crowd that Lionsgate would love to see a fifth film. The studio has already been very open about a fifth film being what they want, and both Keanu Reeves and Stahelski have openly stated that they have ideas for a fifth film.
