Joker 2 production is complete and Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn is looking incredible

Gaga seems to fit into the world of Joker quite well, and I’m sure her version of the character will complement her own Mistah J. Margot Robbie was absolutely perfect in the same role in The Suicide Squad movies, but for these Elseworlds movies, it’s pretty clear that Gunn and Safran want to keep a strict barrier between the new DCU and the standalone movies.

We don’t even know if Robbie will eventually return as Harley, but we can be pretty sure that this new era of DC wants to streamline their roster and reduce the confusion that can come with multiple versions of the same character played by different actors , all occurring simultaneously without a very clear distinction.

As sloppy as the MCU can be, they’ve been very clever in building their cinematic universe brick by brick. By the time things got super crazy, we were already all-in on the universe and knew who everyone was and where they stood, even if they did make a few actor switcheroos (check out Terrence Howard and Edward Norton!), judging by Gunns State of the DC union presentation, that’s something they’ll eventually emulate.

Joker: Folie à Deux is not scheduled to hit screens until October 4, 2024.
