A 34-year-old man nurturing a 13-year-old girl online, drove all the way to the Dallas, Texas area, kidnapped the victim, raped her and took her to a North Carolina property where he locked her in a shed, they say the authorities.
Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, 34, is facing five felony charges in North Carolina Tuesday morning, but authorities said other charges are pending. Although the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office did not specify what those charges might be or where they might be filed, the FBI was involved in the investigation, and the alleged crimes crossed state lines — raising the distinct possibility that a federal proceeding could also be in progress view stands .
Investigators in North Carolina said the FBI contacted them last Friday regarding the case.
“Around 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a special agent with the Texas FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force regarding a missing 13-year-old woman. The Dallas Police Department was investigating a missing youth and with the assistance of the FBI, they were able to determine that the youth had been communicating with an adult male through a social media chat platform,” the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said. “The content of the chat was consistent with nurturing and enticement.”

It is alleged that Camacho was caught on video outside the victim’s home in a car registered on the property in Lexington, NC, where he allegedly locked the victim in a shed.
“The registered owner and adult male identified during the investigation was determined to be a Davidson County resident. Investigators from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by agents from the FBI’s Greensboro field office, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, where the registered owner left the registered address,” authorities said. “During the traffic stop, it was determined that the youth was locked in an outbuilding on the property at 10438 Linwood Southmont Rd., Lexington NC.”
With Camacho’s arrest, lawmakers were able to save the girl. They said she did not appear to be physically injured, but the victim was taken to a North Carolina hospital for an evaluation before being safely returned to her home in Texas.
The accused, according to the authorities, was questioned. Investigators did not specify what took place during this interview, but multiple sex crime charges soon followed.
Currently, Camacho faces charges of kidnapping a child, raping a child under 15, committing human trafficking, two counts of statutory raping a child under 15, two counts of statutory raping a child under 15, and committing indecent liberties to have. All of these are criminal offences.
The WFAA reportedly interviewed the girl’s mother and discovered that the victim and suspect communicated online for months while playing a video game and chatting on Discord.
Records reviewed by Law&Crime show Camacho was held on a $1.25 million Davidson County bond. The suspect was booked at 1:21 am on Saturday, March 11.
