The race for Raphinha this summer is heating up.

For a long time it looked like the Brazilian winger would be tied to Barcelona but with La Blaugrana currently suffering from serious financial problems, a number of Premier League clubs have come into the picture.

Arsenal made a bid rejectedChelsea are delighted while the player would also reportedly be open to a move to West Ham.

However, Tottenham could soon be looking to sign the Leeds ace as Fabrizio Romano claims the London club have told Raphinha’s employers they want to bid for him.

Romano is very rarely wrong on these matters, so a Spurs offer for Raphinha could well be imminent.

A Player Your Club MUST Sell This Summer (2022)

Of course, whether Tottenham can muster the money to force Leeds’ hand remains to be seen.

The Yorkshire club are reportedly wanting more than £55m for their talisman and Spurs can certainly afford that after their £150m cash injection earlier this summer, but you have to wonder if such a large chunk of that money goes for Raphinha should be used or not.

Tottenham have plenty of problem positions to fill – particularly in defence, and with Dejan Kulusevski lighting up the Premier League on their right wing it seems odd that Spurs are spending so much money on Raphinha.

Of course, this move would make sense if Tottenham have an absolutely massive budget and other deals for similar fees are further down the pipeline, but that remains to be seen.

Spurs appear ready to bid for Raphinha and if they get him they will land an ‘incredible’ player.
