Jurgen Klopp shares Joe Gomez’s mood in the Liverpool dressing room after injury

Jurgen Klopp was quoted by Goal reporter Neil Jones after Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Southampton when he said Joe Gomez was in a good mood in the Liverpool dressing room. In the 45th minute he had to be replaced injured.
Gomez, 24, was one of nine changes made by Jurgen Klopp at the south coast after Saturday’s FA Cup penalty shootout win over Chelsea. Only Ibrahima Konate and Alisson remained from the side that defeated the Blues.
England international Gomez received only his fourth Premier League start of the season against Southampton. A player who has sustained multiple ACL injuries. He suffered a blow to his ankle just before half-time.
He was replaced by captain Jordan Henderson and James Milner switched to right-back. Gomez was concerned given his past but Klopp gave a positive response when asked about the defender’s injury after the game.
“I hope we were lucky. He’s in pain, but not too much. He got a real shock to the system. But he’s in the dressing room and he was in a good mood when I spoke to him,” said Klopp. as quoted by Goal reporter Neil Jones.

Klopp gives update on Liverpool man Gomez: Shame on defenders
A real blow to Gomez. The defender will have welcomed another chance to show Klopp what he can do. A player plagued by injury and unfortunate enough to be a partial member.
But injuries have been a constant in Gomez’s short career so far and there’s no sign of them going away. Proof of his mentality of staying in a positive mood after the knock and fingers crossed it’s not a serious one.
In other news, Arsenal said the 24-year-old West Ham target will not return if £4.5m ‘masterpiece’ is made.
