Justin Marks has announced his return to a national NASCAR series.

A Cup Series owner turned driver is about to wear his firefighting suit again. Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks will return to the NASCAR series as he races in the Camping World Truck Series at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Marks and Nither Motorsports announced the news on July 1 with a press release. They confirmed that Marks will make his first national series starting in 2018 on July 9 (1:30 p.m. ET, FS1). He’ll be driving a Chevrolet Silverado No. 41 Worldwide Express for Nome Motorsports, an entry that Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain took to Victory Lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Chastain also finished fourth at the Sonoma Raceway in the entry.

“I am delighted that I can help support Nither Motorsports and am delighted to be wearing the colors of Worldwide Express. Their Silverados have grown very quickly this year so we’re heading to Mid-Ohio this weekend thinking not only of having fun, but also of believing that we’ll do well,” Marks said in a statement. . “I knew how fast Carson Hocevar was on the road in Sonoma before he had to overturn the truck to let Daniel [Suárez]. I hope he’ll be just as good on the road in Mid-Ohio. “

The trip to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Park will be the first for Camping World Truck Series drivers, but it won’t be for Marks. He had experience taking a school course during his time on Xfinity Series.

Marks made 5 starts at the track during his time in the Xfinity Series and he finished 3 times in the top 10 while completing 100% of the laps. The California-born player also earned his only Xfinity Series career win in the 2016 season.

Marks drove a Chevrolet No. 42 for Chip Ganassi Racing on his 2016 trip to Mid-Ohio Motor Speedway, and he started near the middle of the crew. However, the Marks ended up leading 43 of the scheduled 75 laps on a day when rain played a major role in the action on the track. He finished the race at Victory Lane after holding off Sam Hornish Jr. and Ryan Blaney.

Although Marks has not raced in a national NASCAR series since the 2018 season, he has occasionally competed in other motorsport series. This continues into 2022 as Marks recently added more warm-ups to his schedule.

The 4th of July weekend features two different races for the Marks. He will join the Trans-Am Series at Road America on Sunday, July 3, and he will be driving the Chevrolet Camaro #99 SLR/M1 a few hours before his racers – Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez – compete in the Cup Series race at the Wisconsin road course.

The Marks weekend will also include a race at the Stafford Motor Speedway. He will join the SRX Series team driving the number 99 with Trackhouse Racing graphics. Marks will take advantage of the opportunity to face Ryan Newman, Hailie Deegan, Greg Biffle, Bobby Labonte and several other famous drivers.
