Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry opened up about a scary encounter with ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez during her testimony – posted to the Osceola County Courthouse website on March 26 – February 17 in her lawsuit against Briana DeJesus, filed by Lowry in June 2021.
She is suing DeJesus for defaming the character after DeJesus said in an interview that Lowry — who has two children with Lopez — allegedly hit him and broke into his mother’s home in September 2020. Lowry has vehemently denied the allegations and the charges against her have been dropped, The sun wrote in February 2021. In the statement, Lowry added that the charges were dropped “for lack of evidence and lack of evidence.”
While discussing the incident – in which Lopez cut her older son’s hair without her consent – Lowry recalled Lopez’s punchy response. “Chris definitely said I’m lucky he didn’t scalp my son,” she said during the show filing.
Lowry said he had a PFA (protection from abuse) against Lopez in September 2020 — when Lopez cut her son Lux’s hair — because “Chris nearly killed me in October 2019.”
At this point during the testimony, Lowry apparently got emotional and they paused. When the day was over, DeJesus’ attorney, Marc Randazza, apologized for touching on the touchy subject. “I’m sorry I stepped on this emotional issue for you,” he said, according to the Copy.
“Can we please make sure your client doesn’t take it to Instagram,” Lowry said answeredrelated to DeJesus.
“I will make them not to do it,” Randazza replied copy Remarks.
Lowry said she was never handcuffed
The Teen Mom 2 star asked if she was really arrested because she was never handcuffed.
When the alleged incident surfaced a second time, Lowry stressed that she was not handcuffed. “Arrest? I wasn’t handcuffed or anything, so that counts as an arrest,” she said, according to the Copy.
“I don’t want to give you legal advice, but I don’t think handcuffs are a necessary element of an arrest,” Randazza answered.
Lowry was vague when asked to describe what happened between her and Lopez. “I got a call after an incident, three weeks after the incident, saying there was a warrant out and I went to the police station and I turned myself in and then the charges were suddenly dropped.” she saidaccording to the deposit record.
Lowry said in the statement that she “didn’t touch” Lopez and testifies that her ex lied to the police.
I think Chris would do that because we had a very tumultuous relationship,” she said during the filing. “A lot of what comes out of Chris’ mouth isn’t true … He also said I never gave him any money I have.”
Lowry added that she was booked, jailed and fingerprinted.
“They booked me, I guess it means, and I got my fingerprints in and they put me in a holding cell for like an hour and then I went home,” she said, per the Copy.
Lowry accused Lopez of being a narcissist
Lowry revealed that her ex – with whom she shares 4-year-old Lux and 20-month-old Creed – is a narcissist.
“He has parents for himself, not for his children,” she said, according to the statement Copy. “He sees his children as objects and pawns and as a way to control me.”
“He’s very manipulative. He’s abusive,” she continued Copy. “He’s self-centered and will do anything to make his own way.”
