On social media, fans had a huge reaction to the change in hosting. Some felt that with Palmer hosting, the “girl power” vibe of the last two seasons would be gone.

“We want Tayshia and Kaitlyn, not Jesse, to be the Bachelorette host — give people what they want!” one fan tweeted.

“Okay sure Jesse had class but he was possibly the most unhelpful host I could have imagined,” another wrote. “He literally nodded his head and said, ‘Wow, yeah, that’s hard,’ and that was it. At the very least, Kaitlyn and Tayshia offered advice and moral support. “

“I don’t like him, but Jesse hardly matters,” another I Agree. “Kaitlyn and Tayshia helped the girls a lot. It just makes sense to have a female host for the bachelorette and a male host for the bachelorette

“It’s very disappointing that the #TheBachelor producers chose the emotionally stunted Jesse to host The Bachelorette after seeing Kaitlyn and Tayshia in action last year. Why? Jesse didn’t add anything interesting last season,” another wrote. “At least Gabby and Rachel have each other.”

September 2021, variety reported that former franchise lead Palmer would have a “host” title for season 26 of “The Bachelor” in place of Harrison. At the podcast “Behind the Rose”, Franchise graduate Blake Horstmann and his co-host Erik Bradley noted that before Palmer was given the “host” title, Kaitlyn and Tayshia were actually listed as “special guests” rather than hosts for “The Bachelorette.” Horstmann noted that Tayshia and Kaitlyn would not officially be considered hosts “because then they would have to pay them the host salary.”

“So you’re not a host. They are mentors…” he explained.

While it’s unclear what Palmer’s salary is or what the dual “Bachelorette” mentors were paid, Celebrity Net Worth Lists Former host Harrison reportedly made $8 million a year from his hosting duties with the ABC franchise.

Kaitlyn and Tayshia have also referred to each other as mentors. In an interview with the Washington PostTayshia said, “For Katie [Thurston’s season], we are mentors. We just stood by her side and helped her navigate these tricky waters of being the Bachelorette.”

At a performance on the Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast In June 2021, Kaitlyn said it’s “really nice to be there as a mentor and support system” for the “Bachelorette” star.
