Kalvin Phillips appears to approach the Leeds United exit door wearing Manchester City colors.
If the alleged £43m transfer goes through without a hitch, he will play alongside some of the best players, not just in the Premier League but in Europe itself.
One of them is none other than perhaps the best midfielder in the world in Kevin de Bruyne, and as Manchester City presented footage of it the £55million man best goals in their colors, the Instagram post was liked by Phillips himself.
Perhaps the hard-hitting Leeds midfielder is starting to daydream about what it will be like to play alongside him week in and week out next season as the duo could form quite the partnership in the middle of the park.
LEEDS LOSES A BIG HIT TO PHILLIPS
The journey Phillips has had with Leeds fans has been quite incredible, from coming back fresh-faced as a teenager to helping the club get back to where they belong.
Under Marcelo Bielsa, the Englishman was one of the key players and main reasons behind the Yorkshire side’s return to the Premier League.
While it will be hard for Elland Road fans to lose someone like Raphinha, watching Phillips go will be an even bigger blow and it will hurt even more.
The simple reason for this is that the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ has been on this actual journey from the start and, more importantly, is one of them.
But for the likes of Jesse Marsch, he can’t dwell on it too long and the club will need to react if they are to come forward from last season’s relegation battle.
Three new faces have already arrived and should their two star players go it would come as no surprise if Leeds were one of the busier sides of the 2022 summer transfer window.
