Kate Moss is set to testify in Johnny Depp, Amber heard rumors of abuse at trial

A blast from the past. Kate Moss will testify against Amber Heard in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial. The model was mentioned during Amber’s testimony and Johnny’s team is expected to call her as a witness.

While describing a fight that broke out between her and Johnny, Amber referenced an alleged incident involving Kate and the two Pirates of the Caribbean Actor alluding to claims that Johnny allegedly pushed his ex-girlfriend down a flight of stairs when they were dating in the ’90s. Amber said her sister Whitney Henriquez was “in the line of fire… trying to get Johnny to quit. She had her back to the stairs and Johnny grabbed her.” Amber then recalled the alleged incident involving Johnny’s ex-girlfriend. “I’m not hesitating, I’m not waiting — I just immediately think of Kate Moss and stairs.”

Johnny’s attorney Benjamin Chew raised his hand when Amber mentioned Kate. The British supermodel wasn’t originally summoned to testify, but Amber’s mention of Kate created the means for her to be brought in as a witness in Johnny’s case. According to The New York Post, she will testify via video.

Kate and Johnny were a couple from 1994 to 1997 and were one of the most notable power couples of the decade. The couple were known for their reckless behavior and public controversy. Johnny was arrested in 1994 for vandalizing his room at the Mark Hotel in New York City and was ordered to pay the hotel a total fine of $9,767 — including $2,000 in damages alone, along with the bill for the rest of his reservation. Amber previously described the stair case incident at Johnny’s UK trial The sun. “I remembered information I had heard [that] He pushed a former girlfriend – I think it was Kate Moss – down the stairs. I had heard that rumor from two people and it was fresh in my mind.” However, an insider told the New York Post that Kate “went down some stairs in Jamaica. She was wearing flip flops and slipped on the last two steps. Johnny caught her and took care of her.” Kate is reportedly to address the incident during her testimony.

Johnny Depp’s libel trial against Amber Heard began on April 11, 2022. He is suing Amber for $50 million after she wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post in 2018 about her experiences with domestic violence. Though she didn’t name names in the play, Johnny claimed he lost his acting jobs because people speculated it was about him. It is not known when Kate will be brought in to testify. The trial is expected to end before Memorial Day weekend.
