Katherine Ryan has said she kept her second pregnancy a secret because she was afraid it would cause her to lose her job.
The 38-year-old comedian was eight months pregnant when she presented ITV’s Ready To Mingle, a fact she hid from everyone.
The mother of two – who has 12-year-old daughter Violet and one-year-old son Fred – claimed you can’t insure for a production while pregnant.

Speaking to The Sun, Katherine said: “I didn’t tell anyone during my pregnancy. You cannot insure yourself in any production if you are pregnant. Sometimes, if you are important enough, they will go the extra mile. You see Holly Willoughby pregnant and that’s because she’s worth it.
“I tried to keep it a secret. People just thought I was fat forever. I had to keep it quiet. I still had to work to support my family.”
She continued: “If you go to the BBC’s insurance page, it says they don’t insure uterine matters. If your vagina falls off on set, that’s it. You don’t want to disappoint a production if you’re having any pregnancy complications.’
MailOnline have reached out to the BBC and ITV for comment.

It comes after Katherine appeared on Lorraine last week, where she said she’s had fewer problems with sex pests in her industry as she’s become more successful.
But she said female comics still talk among themselves about predatory males in the business.
She added that she wasn’t trying to “out anyone” when she revealed on her Amazon Prime TV series that she confronted a co-worker about being a sexual predator.
She spoke out when asked if there was still a problem in the entertainment sector.

Ms Ryan said: “It’s different for me to appreciate as I’ve become more powerful and people behave differently than they used to because I’ve become a threat.
“I wasn’t trying to name or out anyone, but female comics have that conversation – should I work with that person?
“Should I hide my pregnancy? I remember working in a place where the producer couldn’t get insurance when she was pregnant.
She made the comments while talking to Sara Pascoe during her new series Backstage With Katherine Ryan.
It sparked a guessing game online as to who she was referring to in the remarks.
The Canadian star, who has appeared on shows including Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week and A League Of Their Own, said: “I did a show with one person whom I and you believe is a predator.
‘What should I do? I’ve thought about it, but it’s such a dirty thing because I have no proof – what, not feeding my kids for someone else?
Sara replied: “Also in that case you’re referring to, the point was to lift it.”
That prompted Katherine to admit, “I brought it up. I called him to his face every day and in front of everyone a predator.
