Katie Maloney Dishes on Filming with Tom Schwartz After the Breakup

Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney and her ex-husband Tom Schwartz finalized their divorce in October 2022. While recording an episode of her January 2023 podcast You’re Gonna Love Me Maloney spoke to Schwartz about filming Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules. She revealed she had struggled working with the 40-year-old. She explained their breakup “still felt like a very tender subject” during production of the upcoming season.

“[It was] a very tender time in our lives we were still exploring and navigating the friendship between us and this whole aspect of it was new to both of us and we had just barely moved from our home and there was still just a many things which were new to both of us, so yes, you throw filming into the mix of all of that, and yes, it was definitely, definitely, very, very difficult,” said the reality TV personality.

Maloney also gave an update on her relationship with her ex-husband.

“I think we made it, we’ll see,” said the 36-year-old.

Maloney shared similar comments about how her breakup with Schwartz impacted filming of Vanderpump Rules Season 10 during an interview with E! news.

“There were certainly a lot of awkward moments and a lot of awkward moments. I feel like I haven’t had many people show me much empathy. Let’s put it that way, a lot of friends who weren’t really friends,” said the 36-year-old.

Maloney also shared that she was upset that Schwartz chose to be open about his dating life in Season 10.

“I still wanted us to maintain some level of respect for each other, so I’m trying to keep my life and what I’m doing separate and private and not hurt him by doing it,” the Bravo star explained.

While recording a January 2023 episode of Stassi Schroeder’s podcast Straight Up with Stassi by her former castmate Stassi Schroeder Maloney shared that she believes her behavior on “Vanderpump Rules” was misconstrued as “mean.” She explained that she was being blunt and not taking “b******.” She also hinted that she had issues with her co-stars.

“I’m like a no-b****** person, and I’m just more direct with things. It’s not about being mean, I don’t like the b******. And sometimes there’s a lot of shit with these people, and I can’t fucking deal with it. Like I’ve been on some of this b****** for a very long time and I’m tired,” the You’re Gonna Love Me podcast host shared.

Lala Kent shared that Katie Maloney struggled in Season 10

Maloney’s “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Lala Kent shared information about the upcoming tenth season of the show on a January 2023 episode of her Give Them Lala podcast. She revealed that fans will see the cast navigate difficulties in the new episodes.

“It’s been an intense season on many levels for everyone [Schwartz and Tom Sandoval] trying to open her bar, Katie navigating a divorce, and everyone just had something to contend with,” said the mother-of-one.

The tenth season of “Vanderpump Rules” is scheduled to premiere on February 8, 2023.
