Katie Maloney gives an update on the Something About Her menu

Vanderpump Rules personality Katie Maloney teamed up with her co-star Ariana Madix during filming of the show’s ninth season to open a sandwich shop called Something About Her. Maloney provided an update on the upcoming facility, which will be based in West Hollywood while recording an episode of her castmate Lala Kent’s Give Them Lala podcast in March 2023. The reality TV personality revealed that she and Madix wanted to meet up with an interior designer but still don’t know the exact date when they can open their restaurant.

The 36-year-old also shared that she and her castmate “Vanderpump Rules” discussed possible menu items. She explained that they wanted to “kind of upgrade” classic sandwich recipes by adding “a little spice” or a unique spread. She also shared that the cast of “Vanderpump Rules” tried four sandwiches during a tasting, including a soppressata and salami sandwich, a spicy turkey sandwich, “a vegan,” and a Greek salad sandwich that was “a crowd favorite.”

Maloney also explained that she believes having “a really great bread” is important to Something About Her. She said that she and Madix “haven’t settled on the type of bread yet.” The Bravo personality also revealed that they are “thinking about having seasonal salads” and “a soup” on their menu.

“I go hard like a butternut squash or how I love like a bone broth,” Maloney said.

Additionally, the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star revealed that she came up with names for her menu items.

“I thought of something so cute for — to just play into the something about her — I thought of naming things about ‘her,’ whatever she is to you, but like her laugh or like her smile, that’s either for could be the drinks we have or the sandwiches,” said the Bravo star.

Maloney spoke about her upcoming restaurant while recording a February 2023 episode of her former Vanderpump Rules cast member Kristen Doute’s Sex, Love, and What Else Matters podcast. She shared that she and Madix “prioritised working with consultants to really outline the business plan down to the smallest detail [and] the budget.” She revealed that she didn’t want to make the same mistakes that her ex-husband Tom Schwartz and Madix’s ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval made when they opened their restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s. She explained that she believes that “They sort of worked backwards,” which “cost them a lot of money and a lot of time.”

According to TMZMadix split from Sandoval in March 2023 after discovering he was having an affair with her castmate Raquel Leviss. During a March 2023 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” Maloney weighed in on the matter, sharing that she wasn’t surprised Sandoval was unfaithful. The aspiring restaurateur also revealed that she doesn’t think Schwartz knew about the affair when he kissed Leviss in season 10.

“Part of me thinks he was duped by both of them [Leviss and Sandoval]’ said the 36-year-old.

She clarified that if she found out her ex-husband was privy to the situation and was protecting Sandoval, she would “light up [Schwartz] on fire.”
