Katie Maloney Responds to Scheana Shay’s Claims

Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney has responded to castmate Scheana Shay’s claim that she approves of Tom Schwartz and Raquel Leviss dating.

In a February 2023 interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reality Tea podcast, Shay admitted she begged Maloney’s ex-husband and Leviss to have a romance. She claimed Maloney let her know they believed they would be a well matched couple. Shay also admitted that she “said to Raquel, ‘Katie kinda gives you her blessings if you want to pursue this.'”

According to Us WeeklyMaloney accepted their Instagram Stories to share her thoughts on Shay’s comments on February 20, 2023. She uploaded screenshots showing text messages from Shay which she claimed were sent in May 2022.

“In May. After we talked in Vegas. I told Scheana I’m not into that shit. So on with diabolical nonsense. I was pretty clear that I had no intention of signing s***. So why go through with it. After you start laying some groundwork [sic]. Inviting Schwartz and Raquel to their birthday party (I didn’t) was very obvious but sure [sic] busy checking on me,” read the caption of the three screenshots.

In the text messages, Shay wrote that she believed Maloney “wanted.”[ed] Tom to keep going” and “encouraged [her] to push him to move on.” She stated that she had begged Schwartz to date because “that’s what [Maloney] asked by her.” The mother-of-one also shared that she felt Maloney was “happier” following her split from the Schwartz & Sandy co-owner.

Maloney admitted she seemed happy “in public.” She also noted that they “want[ed] Tom move on,” but insisted she “don’t need it [Shay] Helping Tom with anything.” Maloney then suggested that she didn’t think Shay’s concern for Schwartz was real, texting, “You just want to be there for him and make drama, and I’m not here for that.”

The “Good As Gold” singer explained that she was busy raising her daughter Summer Moon Honey Davies and worried about her career. Maloney replied that Shay “does it” for herself.

A Reddit user shared screenshots of Maloney’s Instagram stories in the Vanderpump Rules subreddit.. Several Bravo fans criticized the text messages in the comments.

“Team nobody. They both seem like people I wouldn’t want to be friends with.” wrote one commenter.

“Katie doesn’t do what she thinks it does.” added another.

“I don’t like Scheana, but I don’t think Katie will do well here either.” a third person intervened.

“I keep wondering why Katie is broadcasting these screenshots because it makes her look TERRIBLE.” commented one social media user.

Raquel Leviss opened up about her strained relationship with Katie Maloney

While speaking to Us Weekly in February 2023, Leviss discussed her decision to kiss Schwartz after his split from Maloney. She shared that they “made out a few times,” but clarified that they’re friends. The 28-year-old also shared that she has a strained relationship with Maloney. She explained that she decided to give the You’ll Love Me podcast host “some space.”

“Obviously I really hurt her and that wasn’t my intention at all. I’m navigating single life right now and I thought Schwartz might be someone cool to hook up with, so it sucks,” the model said.

In a separate interview with Us Weekly in February 2023Maloney shared that she tried to be friends with Leviss before kissing her ex-husband.

“Some things are just not meant to be and our friendship is probably part of that. I tried,” the Vanderpump Rules star claimed.
