Keely Hodgkinson wins silver medal on final day of World Championship
Keely Hodgkinson of Great Britain won a silver on the final day of the World Championships.
The 20-year-old added an Olympic silver medal from last year after running a best 1 minute 56.38 seconds of the season in Eugene.
She was won gold by Athing Mu of the United States, who also won at the Tokyo Olympics last year, with Mary Moraa of Kenya in third.
Hodgkinson took a 700m lead with a time of 0.03 seconds but Mu rebounded in the final 100m and managed to crush his British opponent just before the line.
The medal is Britain’s sixth at the World Championships in the US, which ends on Sunday.
